Cali knows how to Party- Rancho Cucamonga Night 2

Rancho Cucamonga definitely knew how to party for the first game of BananaBall in California; the Bananas won the first showdown. The Party Animals came into the second game with some of their best players in the lineup for a chance of redemption. Here are the top highlights of the night!

  1. In the top of the 1st inning, Danny Hosley hit what is called a homerun off the wall. The Party Animals challenged the call, and it got overturned and ruled as a ground rule double!
  2. In the bottom of the 1st, Bryson Bloomer hits a bouncing ground ball towards 3rd base. Hosley throws it to 2nd base in time for Dalton Cornett to be out. Bloomer is safe at 1st because Dalton Mauldin dropped the ball on the throw...literally.
  3. In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Joe Lytle hits a bouncing ball towards 1st base, Dan Oberst makes a diving grab of the ball and turns to throw it in time to Jared Donalson, who was covering the base. The Party Animals challenge the call, but the out call is upheld. Chase Achuff advances to 2nd.
  4. In the top of the 3rd inning, Dalton Mauldin hits a line drive towards center AFTER Danny Hosley and Bill Leroy both steal base at the same time. Hosley scores on the line drive, Reese Hampton throws the ball to home in time for LeRoy to be thrown out. The Bananas challenge the call, but the reviewers say it is too inconclusive to overturn and the call is upheld.
  5. In the bottom of the 6th inning, Reese Hampton flies out to center, DR Meadows makes an incredible stretching jump catch, Meadows throws back to first in time for Justin Quinn to be out! See the video below!

Cali knows how to Party- Rancho Cucamonga Night 1

The Party Animals and Bananas made their first trip to California, and Rancho Cucamonga proved they know how to party. Here are some highlights from night 1!

  1. In the first half inning, the Party Animals sent up 9 out of their 10 batters!
  2. In the top of the second, Dustin Baber steals first on a passed ball by Bill LeRoy.
  3. In the bottom of the second, Malachi Mitchell steals 2nd on a 1-2 count. LeRoy hits a bouncing ground ball towards 3rd. Bryson Bloomer throws the ball across the diamond to Jason Swan to get LeRoy out. Swan throws the ball back across the diamond to Dylan Porter who is covering the base and gets Mitchell out in a rare 5-3-1 double play.

  4. In the bottom of the third, Dan Oberst and Malachi Mitchell both steal bases at the same time for a double steal.
  5. One of the most intense moments of the game comes in the bottom of the sixth inning, when Oberst hits a ball that is called a home run. There was a challenge on whether the ball is fair or foul. If fair, the call will stand and the Bananas walk off the inning. If foul, the inning continues. The call ends up being foul and overturned and the inning continues with Oberst grounding out to the Chase Achuff.
