Rancho Cucamonga definitely knew how to party for the first game of BananaBall in California; the Bananas won the first showdown. The Party Animals came into the second game with some of their best players in the lineup for a chance of redemption. Here are the top highlights of the night!
- In the top of the 1st inning, Danny Hosley hit what is called a homerun off the wall. The Party Animals challenged the call, and it got overturned and ruled as a ground rule double!
- In the bottom of the 1st, Bryson Bloomer hits a bouncing ground ball towards 3rd base. Hosley throws it to 2nd base in time for Dalton Cornett to be out. Bloomer is safe at 1st because Dalton Mauldin dropped the ball on the throw...literally.
- In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Joe Lytle hits a bouncing ball towards 1st base, Dan Oberst makes a diving grab of the ball and turns to throw it in time to Jared Donalson, who was covering the base. The Party Animals challenge the call, but the out call is upheld. Chase Achuff advances to 2nd.
- In the top of the 3rd inning, Dalton Mauldin hits a line drive towards center AFTER Danny Hosley and Bill Leroy both steal base at the same time. Hosley scores on the line drive, Reese Hampton throws the ball to home in time for LeRoy to be thrown out. The Bananas challenge the call, but the reviewers say it is too inconclusive to overturn and the call is upheld.
- In the bottom of the 6th inning, Reese Hampton flies out to center, DR Meadows makes an incredible stretching jump catch, Meadows throws back to first in time for Justin Quinn to be out! See the video below!
