If you’re going to read the way my brain processes sports, I figure it’s only fair that you learn about me! So here it goes…
Hi! My name is Anna, as you can probably tell from the name of the page. I’m 25 years old and live in Tennessee. I grew up a die hard Chicago Cubs fan (see the picture above of baby Anna). I worked for the Nashville Sounds in 2019, who at the time were the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. 2020 happened, and luckily this season in 2023, I have started working for the Sounds again, and they are the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Massive Swiftie, so be prepared for all the clever Taylor references I can mix into baseball.
The main reasoning for this page is because I want to get into sports broadcasting and journalism. I need a way to get practice while also getting my foot in the door, so I came up with the idea of this little project. My goal is to spend the year writing here and posting 1-2 times a week, and then right around the winter meetings time for MLB, I will start sending my work to teams, news channels, and radio stations and see if anyone wants to take a chance on me. The main sport focus will be baseball and BananaBall, which if you don't know what that is, there is already a post on my page explaining the rules of BananaBall! During the offseason for MLB, I am going to try to focus on football and hockey simultaneously, but I have a few other baseball themed ideas already in the works as well. I am also trying to get some interviews with sports journalists, field reporters, and broadcasters, as well as hopefully some players past and present.
